This piece is inspired by the creativity and resilience of the Palestinian people. When they were banned from any public displays of the Palestinian flag, the watermelon (with its red, green and black colorway) became a subtle way for them to display their national pride. The design is inspired by Khaled Hourani, the co-founder of the international Art Academy of Palestine, and his exhibitions in France, Jordan and Glasgow.
